Coastal Trip

We just got back tonight from the west coast. What a wonderful trip! We arrived in Vancouver on Wednesday and auntie Pam met us at the airport. Our days were packed full of many exciting adventures. We went to Granville Island for the rest of the afternoon on Wednesday and visited. On Thursday Pam took us to Seattle, where we shopped at a wonderful outlet mall. Friday was a family day. We went to Stanley Park, ate from a hotdog vendor for lunch, waded in the ocean, walked through the forest of red wood trees and generally relaxed together. Saturday we travelled with uncle Jim and auntie Pam and cousin Neil to Steveston; a really neat little town right on the ocean. We wandered down the docks to see what the fishermen were selling. That night we went over to the "coastal cousins" place for bar-b-qued salmon and a visit. I got to meet two of Chris' cousins who were unable to come to our wedding. On Sunday we went to Victoria on the ferry. Very cool! We saw an orca pod. Absolutely fascinating!! We also got to have lunch with Chris' great aunt and uncle and we got to visit Buchart Gardens. On Monday we had to recuperate. We were all so very tired and it was so very hot. Tuesday we laid low again and went hiking in Lynn Canyon with Chris' cousin Marnie and her friend Bill. uncle Jim and aunt Pam babysat Rachel 2 nights so that we could go out for dinners. What a special treat. All in all it was a good holiday, but we are so tired and are looking forward to sleeping in our own beds.
