Behind!!

Wow!!! Am I behind in updating this! Life has just sort of taken over and now we are staring Rachel's first birthday in the face. Time flies!
We are all well. The Lord has been so good to us. We have had house things to finish and God has provided in many ways. One of which is a new furnace motor. The furnace was dying. You could hear it every time it turned over so we called a guy who does that sort of thing and he replaced the motor for $150.00. Beats a new furnace which could be well over $2000.00. We will have to replace the whole thing eventually, but at least this gives us some time to put some money aside. We were also given some money to have the front and back doors replaced, so that is an answer to prayer as the winters are cold here and both doors were leaking heat like crazy.
My parents are coming on the 15th and staying for a week. They will be here for Rachel's birthday. We are excited they are coming, but I have so much to do before then and it seems my days are spent doing things other than cleaning and baking. Yesterday I was doing something in the kitchen and I had this prompting which I believe was the Lord saying, "You need to stop with the dishes and spend some time with your daughter." So, I left the sink full of water and bundled her up and we went out for a long walk in the snow. She has a wooden sled that somebody gave us and it wasn't too cold. She wore her mitts the whole time without trying to take them off and was laughing everytime we went over a little bump on the road. We had so much fun. Her little cheeks were rosy when we got home, and she slept so well for her nap. I had fun with her and had to refill the sink with hot water to finish...but it was time well spent.
Anyways, here is a picture of Rachel and I at Papa Doug's 65th birthday party last week.
Enjoy!!

That is a great pic! God blesses in so many ways - it is always so good to hear of how He is working around us in others. Your time spent with Rachel outside is a good reminder for our priorities to be right. I fail often in this area - trying to get done what 'needs' doing rather than investing time in my family's hearts. The winter weather outside doesn't often help me keep focused either! lol!
Love,
Sheri
