Blessings when we don't deserve it!

Well, here I am again with a story. We have been without our stroller for almost a month and I have been going crazy. It all started when we received the stroller as a gift. What a great stroller. My sister-in-law calls it the "cadilac of strollers". We were so blessed by God with it and the moment I left the hospital with my little girl it has been in use. Every day, sometimes more than once, all the way to Vancouver, across on the ferry to Victoria and back, Stanley Park...the works. In the winter Rachel and I went to the mall almost every day to walk in the warmth and since we have had hot days this summer....again to the mall to walk in the cool. Imagine my surprise one day when walking with a friend a discovering that the front wheels were both worn down to the threads; flat. No problem, take it to a bike shop and get a new tire. To my dismay, the bike people cracked a rim...again, no problem, the stroller is under warranty till October, I'll just get a new one. We phone the company in the States and find that the wheels are backordered for 6 weeks. AAAAAHHHHH! We had been so spoiled! We went and bought an umbrella stroller; much like driving a Ford Pinto when you're used to a Hummer. We were at the end of ourselves bumping over cracked sidewalks and hunched over trying our best to get to the post office or the grocery store.
Two nights ago, after weeks of frustration and calling the company and being told, "yes, we said 6 weeks, but it could be longer, sorry, we can't give you any definite time line" we finally cried out to God. I know it seems a trivial thing, but I am convinced that God is interested in every little detail of our lives, not just the big stuff. He loves us and cares when we are hurting and frustrated. We left it in His hands trusting that He would take care of it. Tonight we were in Sears and Chris felt and urging to speak to a manager about our difficulty, "I'm just going to see if he can do anything for us". The guys was really nice; he listened to what we had to say and said, "Let me see what I can do for you." He went away for about 5 minutes and came back with 2 new tires. We asked what he needed from us to take the wheels. He said, "Nothing! You seem like honest people, I'm going to trust you that when your new wheels come, that you'll bring them into us in exchange for the ones I've just given you". He didn't want our names or a credit card number for assurance. We asked for his name so we could write the people at Sears and let them know how much we appreciated what he did for us. He said, "That's not necessary". I burst into tears and told him how much this meant to a mother of a 10 month old who had been relying on an umbrella stroller for the last 4 weeks. We walked away with two brand new stroller wheels and very grateful hearts. Needless to say when we got home we went for a walk around the neighborhood even though it was way past Rachel's bed time. She laughed and jigged in the seat. What a blessing! Here is a picture of Rachel and I tonight in front of our house. Isn't it awesome how God blesses and answers our prayers even when we don't turn to Him until the very last minute. We would have made it so much easier on ourselves if we had just called out to Him first. Lesson learned!!
