Fall Fest

Saturday night was Fallfest in our community. The League put on a bar-b-q with all the food donated by Safeway and members paid $1. The plates were huge: hamburgers, chips, salads etc. including cookies, drinks, coffee, candy for the kids. The Anglican church in the neighborhood offered their youth group to play with the kids, do face painting and balloon animals, they also had a band there that played worship music while we ate. We had so much fun. Attached is a picture of Rachel with a mini pumpkin that was on the table to hold down the table cloth. She had fun watching all the other kids and she enjoyed eating cheese.

10 months old

Well, here is Rachel at 10 months old. My quiet peaceful life is over "for real" as she has started crawling. She keeps one foot flat on the floor and then goes on her other knee and drags herself around. She is starting to pull herself up onto her feet too but hasn't really started standing. Needless to say, I have been busy. She has not quite mastered crawling yet and keeps doing face plants into the hard wood floor. Hence the bruise on her forehead. I am enjoying her more and more. She is such a wonderful blessing to us. She waves "hello" and "goodbye" and she is doing a bit of baby sign as well. She is eating pretty much everything except for potatoes, carrots and bananas. For some reason she has an aversion to these three things...she loves kiwi and cauliflower though so I do manage to get some veggies and fruit into her. She loves Costco hot dogs and steak on the bar-b-q.
We have been having quite a bit of rain. Today is the first day in over a week that we have seen the sun. I am going for a walk after Rachel wakes up from her nap. I have been wanting to get into the garden to pick the rest of my corn and tomatoes; I also have wanted to plant my bulbs for the spring...I guess I'll have to wait.
Tomorrow we start the fall session of our Music Together class. I am looking forward to it.
TTFN,
Rebekah
